Our Mission : DETonate
• Design and Develop new aerospace technology
• Educate and Engage K-12 students in STEM topics
• Teach and Train top-tier future professionals
Rebooted in 2015, Final Frontier Aerospace Systems and Technology Corp (2FAST) works to develop and test new rocket technologies for flight aboard high-power rockets. With thirty members and four advisors, 2FAST has the motivation, manpower, and experience to produce incredible feats of engineering in the field of aerospace.
Formerly known as the Wildcat Rocketry Club (WRC), 2FAST successfully launched and recovered its first high-power rocket at the 2017 Spaceport America Cup, achieving an 8,800-foot apogee with reliable radio communication and GPS location throughout the flight.
After seeing success with The Manhattan Project, a rocket built from COTS components, 2FAST decided to move into production of all base systems in the SpaceBoatOne project. In the summer of 2018, a successful liftoff and recovery of SpaceBoatOne was achieved at the Spaceport America Cup.
This time, the entire rocket was built in-house, including the fiberglass body, 3D-printed and laser cut internal airframe, rocket motor casing, flight computer, and even the propellant!
We’re always on the lookout for motivated students to test their mettle in pursuit of hotter, faster, louder rocket science! Head over to our Contact page to learn how to get involved!
